This is an alternative way for couples who can communicate, to deal with the issues that arise on separation. The mediator can help you with arrangements for the children, as well as the complex issues that can arise on separation with regard to financial matters. If divorce or civil partnership dissolution proceedings are inevitable, the mediator can help you decide on who should bring the proceedings in order to obtain the best outcome for your family.
Mediation is confidential. Both parties are involved in discussions throughout and the timescale and outcome is governed by your individual requirements.
Mediation helps to keep costs to a minimum, allowing you to maintain control of your future rather than being told what to do by a District Judge, which is often the case in the traditional court-based process.
